We were born here, between the dunes. We built this camp out of respect for the place, so you can feel the silence of the Sahara without giving up a hot shower and a good bed.

Ride into the dunes
Leave the village behind on a camel, with our guides walking beside you. The sand turns from gold to copper as you go deeper into Erg Chebbi.

Watch the sun go down
Climb a dune, sit in the sand and watch the light fade behind the ridges. It is quiet. Really quiet.

Dinner in the dining tent
Soup, Moroccan salads and a tajine slow cooked by our team, served under lanterns. Tell us about allergies or a vegetarian diet and we adapt.

Drums around the fire
Our team plays Berber rhythms by the fire and teaches you to play along. Then step away from the light and look up: the Milky Way is right there.

Sunrise over the Sahara
Wake up early, walk up the dune and watch the first light spill over the desert. Breakfast is waiting at the camp.

Two tent styles, one standard of comfort
Every tent has its own bathroom with hot water and a flushing toilet, parquet floors, Berber fabrics woven by local artisans and screened windows to let the desert air in. Air conditioning for hot days, heating for winter nights.

Dinner for two under the Sahara sky
On request, the camp sets a private candlelit dinner in the dunes, a few minutes from your tent. Just the two of you, the silence and the stars.

What our guests remember
One of the best experiences of my travel life. We stopped to watch the sun disappear behind the dunes; it was spectacular. The tent was so beautiful, very stylish and well decorated, really clean, and the scent of amber was inebriating. After dinner we sang and danced around the fire under the starry sky.

Questions before your night in the desert
Where exactly is Abdo Luxury Camp?
The camp sits in the Erg Chebbi dunes, the largest sand sea in Morocco, a short ride from the village of Merzouga in the south east of the country. We send you the exact meeting point in Merzouga on WhatsApp when you book.
Do the tents have a private bathroom?
Yes. Every tent, VIP or standard, has its own bathroom with a hot shower, a washbasin and a flushing toilet. There are no shared facilities.
How do I get to the camp from Merzouga village?
Most guests ride to the camp on a camel at the end of the afternoon, which takes you through the dunes in time for sunset. If you prefer, or if you travel with heavy luggage, we drive you in a 4x4. Your car can stay parked in Merzouga.
What is included in a night at the camp?
Your private tent, dinner and breakfast, Berber music around the fire and the welcome tea. Camel rides, quad biking, sandboarding, 4x4 tours and transfers can be added. Ask us on WhatsApp for the rate that matches your dates.
When is the best time to visit Merzouga?
October to April is the most pleasant period: warm days and cool nights. Winter nights in the desert can drop close to freezing, so bring a warm layer; our tents have thick blankets. From June to August the days are very hot, and the camel rides are planned early morning and late afternoon.
Can you organise the trip from Marrakech or Fes?
